Mt. Hood Meadows made a significant upgrade this summer by adding a new high speed quad to the front side of the mountain. The lift it replaced was built in 1967 and was one of its original two lifts ever built. The New Stadium Express High Speed Quad is Mt. Hood Meadows 6th express lift.
This upgrade is welcoming news and will hopefully help to spread out the crowds that we have seen increase over the last 2 seasons. Midweek powder days last year were about as crowded as the weekends used to be the year before due to the fact that nobody works anymore. Now you will have to make the quick decision of whether to score the bowls first, or go straight over to the backside before your friends do. Either way, that’s a good decision to have to be making.
All in all I think its a great addition to the mountain and has me even more excited for this coming winter season. Now all we need is for the economy to improve so everyone goes back to work. In the mean time check out this video of the process it took to get the high speed quad installed.
